The French milliner label “Leslie James” was a popular and exclusive label popular in the 30s, 40s, 50s. A company of two great minds– James Druce and Leslie Masters– created outstanding designer hats that were sold in the best stores. This hat came from Bullocks Wilshire and is labeled “French room millinery/ Bullocks Wilshire.”
The hat is made of a lightweight black material. It is 6″ tall and 23 1/2″ around. A slight brim juts out the front slightly. A grosgrain wide ribbon accentuates the bottom with a large bow on the side. A voluminous brown veil drapes over the top of the derby cascading to each side meant to wrap around the face. The veil creates the seductive quality to the design.
EXCELLENT condition.
