Mod meets Flapper in this sixties decade cocktail dress. Layers of opulently strung silver beads swing. Sequins shimmer. A sassy mini hemline teases. Ooh, this is certainly a fun piece then and now!
Labeled “Adele Simpson” this dress was made in the mid to late 60’s. Known for her “practical wearable designs,” this dress does not fit her usual career and casual sensibility. That’s what makes it all the more exciting!
It measures 36″ from the top of the shoulder to the base of the hem. It is 14″ across the shoulder sporting a kind of halter armhole style. The dress has a 34″ bust, 32″ waist, 36″ hip. The model is a size small.
There are covered snaps connecting the outer sheath. An inner sheath in a cream mint snugly forms the linear body with a smart zipper.
This dress has been worn and shows significant wear around the armholes and neck. Several strings that once held beads hang along the layers of moving beadwork. They are not missed! (You will marvel at the weight of this garment). The new owner may want to clip these strings or try to restring them. Beads will be included for the lucky new owner! Sold AS IS.
Fair to good condition. Needs some love but WOW what a dress!
