Undoubtedly, femininity is the classic style of 50’s fashion. This halter dress with sweetheart neckline is a representation of this classic style. Adorned with swirls of rhinestones and pearls in a floral leaf scroll, the dress is natural linen in color and in texture. The bead and cording work is the most impressive feature of the dress. The rhinestones are riveted and cover the bodice and the front skirt section making this dress super eye catching. No way YOU could hide at a party!
It has a sweetheart neckline which is turned into a halter with smart tie bobbles. It has 4 stays: two on the front and two on the back of the bodice. The side zipper is metal. It comes with a thin covered belt that shows some wear. Belt loops are still on the dress if you choose to use it or another. We think it looks great without it!
Bust 34″ and Waist 26″ with full skirt. Unlined. Label reads: Saks Fifth Avenue and dates to the mid to late 50’s.The bodice is 8″ from armhole to waist. The skirt is 30″ from waist to hem.
It was purchased in Roanoke, VA. It has had only one owner since 1997 (me) and worn only once. It has a faint stain on the back of the dress. It appears from water so it is just a minor discoloration as noted in the picture. There are some pearls missing on the bodice and under one arm (see picture). They do not effect the impressive drama of the beading and are hardly apparent. They can be sewn back on the dress. Extra pearls will be sent with the dress. It is in very good condition.
